ZekeUltra, a Delaware emcee with a psychedelic flow, released an excellent album, (The Power of) The Will of Man, on Home Assembly Music earlier this year. Video single from that album, Whole Step, shows the artist working his laconic words over a gentle, languid beat that gives him room to stretch out and, smoke a fatty along the way. Zeke’s Base Camp III, which he self-released at the end of 2019, is another fine example of his sophisticated word play and woozy beats, combined with an imaginative samples of obscure soul/R&B songs. Whole Step was produced by ZekeUltra. The video was directed by Joseph B. Purcell.
