At Manning Bar, Hands Like Houses arrived as part of their Lótus tour, carrying a catalogue shaped over more than fifteen years of steady evolution.
Formed in Canberra, the band have built their reputation on a blend of technical precision and emotional weight, moving from post-hardcore roots into a broader rock sound without losing their identity. ARIA chart success, extensive international touring and more than 280 million streams have secured their place as one of Australia’s most enduring alternative acts, with a career defined by gradual progression rather than sudden peaks.
The current Lótus era adds another layer, leaning into more introspective themes while maintaining a clear sense of direction. Their legacy rests on consistency, adaptability and a refusal to stand still and this was evident at the Manning Bar.
The Lótus EP will be released on 22 May.
