The 2025 edition of Live at Leeds In The Park is just around the corner, and signals the start of the festival season. Since its inauguration in 2022, it’s one of the best one day festivals I’ve been to in recent years and this year promises to deliver an even better version as we will now be treated to two Main Stages, bringing in bigger acts than ever while still finding plenty of space for those emerging acts to flex their festival muscles, early in the season.
Headlining the picturesque grounds of Temple Newsam Park will be Bloc Party, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album Silent Alarm, playing the album in its entirety. Teeing things up will be Welsh indie-rock legends Manic Street Preachers currently on tour around the UK, but will be stopping in Leeds at the end of May to give us a trademark blistering set.
It’s a diverse mix though, with Norwegian pop superstar Sigrid bringing the current sounds, while Natasha Bedingfield will give us a hit of 2000s nostalgia, with hits like Unwritten and These Words. Local legends The Pigeon Detectives will hit the Main Stage South mid-afternoon and Yard Act, one of the most significant acts to come out of the city in recent years, will take their place on the North Main Stage.
Dotted around the other stages are some great emerging acts that will likely be equally packed out, if previous years are anything to go by. Having previously hosted the like of CMAT, Everything Everything and Anthony Szmierek earlier in their illustrious journeys, we’ll have the pleasure of the company of Luvcat, Getdown Services and the soon to be iconic Fat Dog. Or, you could choose to party with Los Bitchos and their super-eclectic mix of psychedelic latin-infused rock. If you can fit any of these into your schedule, you will not be disappointed.
You’ll be spoiled for choice and that clashfinder will be working pretty hard throughout the day, as it’s a stellar line up for 2025.
If you’re after some light relief away from the music though, this year sees the introduction of a comedy tent, headlined by the brilliant Maisie Adam, or you can get down to the onsite “pub” for a bit of Barrioke with the irrepressible Shaun Williamson.
General Admission tickets are still available from https://www.liveatleeds.com/ where you’ll also find the full line up and set times.
Around £70 is unbelievable value for this kind of line up, and if you want to bring the kids – it’s a properly family friendly festival – U14s are half that price and U5s are free.
