Track: Astronomyy releases the quietly beautiful ‘Swim Deeper’

Young Worcestershire producer Astronomyy blew up a storm with his debut EP, There For U, which was released on his own Lunar Surf label. He’d already built up something of a buzz by posting a series of tracks online, picking up over a million plays on his Soundcloud page.

His new track, Swim Deeper is going to do nothing to dissuade his increasing fanbase. Quietly beautiful, full of this drop bassline that acts as a carpet under your feet, the vocal is grainy but soulful, engaging yet almost matter of fact in its delivery. As it progresses, so the disparate parts – bassline, noodly guitar lines, rippling percussion and minimal piano/synths are brough together, whipping things up to a hige crescendo before gently falling apart.

It’s quite brilliant.
