Cleveland Ohio singer songwriter Marcus Alan Ward has just released a new slab of future funk in the shape of his new track Little Sunshine. After releasing music under the Freeze-Tag moniker, he’s reverted to his own name, and mixes up soid funk cuts with Ward’s gospel soul infused vocals and a healthy dose of hip-hop beats thrown in for good measure.
Little Sunshine is a case in point. There’s splashes of funk guitar along with some real old school synth sounds that permeate underneath his soulful pipes, as he delivers Prince style vocals with his own twist. It floats around during the verses, but really gains its dancefloor stripes during the chorus’ which are frankly irresistable.
