New Music: Spookyland – Big Head

Isn’t everyone heading to SXSW (well, no – because we aren’t..) this next week. Certainly Sydney quartet Spookyland are one of the hot ticket/next big things that a lot of people are looking forward to. With their debut album Beauty already Beautiful dropping on May 6th via Play it again Sam, the band have released a taster in the shape of a track, Big Head.

After its initial thrashing about, these big riffs and bigger, ballsier vocals burst out of their chains, drape themselves over your conciousness and then flick your ears (metaphorically speaking, clearly) with this teasing, singalong chorus until you eventually fall over yourself in lust with both the track, and the band. If you like your (indie) rock big and flamboyant, you’re going to love Spooklyland. Us, well, we love em anyway.
