More than a decade after they last played Australian stages, Chiodos are finally heading back, announcing an Australian tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their landmark debut album All’s Well That Ends Well. Joining them for the run are Florida post-hardcore outfit Rain City Drive and Melbourne’s The Beautiful Monument.
Beginning in Brisbane on 21 November, the tour will visit Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, with Chiodos performing All’s Well That Ends Well in its entirety. Released in 2005, the album became one of the defining records of the mid-2000s post-hardcore boom, introducing fans to Craig Owens’ unmistakable vocal style and enduring tracks including ‘Baby, You Wouldn’t Last A Minute On The Creek’ and ‘The Words “Best Friend” Become Redefined’, the latter eventually earning RIAA Gold certification.
Formed in Michigan in 2001, Chiodos built a reputation for refusing to sit comfortably within the genre’s conventions. Their music collided theatrical melodies, piano passages, electronics and blistering breakdowns into something that felt unpredictable yet deeply emotional. The band’s influence continued through subsequent albums including Bone Palace Ballet, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock Albums chart, before a hiatus brought their story to an apparent close.
That changed in 2024 when Chiodos reunited for When We Were Young Festival, a return that quickly grew into sold-out headline tours and a renewed creative chapter. Owens also revisited All’s Well That Ends Well by re-recording the album for its 20th anniversary, while recent single ‘TAPDAT’ signalled that the band remain focused on more than nostalgia.
Support comes from Rain City Drive, whose blend of melodic hooks and post-hardcore intensity has earned more than a million monthly Spotify listeners and tours alongside acts including Dance Gavin Dance and Memphis May Fire. Melbourne’s The Beautiful Monument complete the bill as they continue building momentum ahead of the release of their third album, Euphoric Thriller, bringing one of Australia’s strongest modern alternative rock live shows to every date.
