Returning with his first release since 2023, Chris Emmanuel shares the R&B sweller ‘Letting Go’, the lead single from the upcoming debut EP.
A bold reintroduction, the track sees the Ontario-based artist sharpening his sound with a rich electronic backdrop and infectious, emotive vocal delivery. ‘Letting Go’ opens with a sample-laden intro that quickly gives way to crisp percussion and layered instrumentation. The raspy vocals cut through the mix with striking clarity before the verses shift to a sharp rap flow that showcases both his lyrical dexterity and innate charisma.
Diving into the release, he comments: “As an artist I think It’s important to express those feelings that way others can relate”.
Born in Guyana and raised in Ontario, Chris’s musical foundation was laid early, nurtured in a household filled with reggae, dancehall, and soca. His sonic palette expanded with the discovery of hip-hop icons like 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem, influences that continue to echo through his work today. After relocating to Canada, Chris faced a cultural adjustment that left him feeling displaced. In that upheaval, music became a sanctuary — a space where he could process, express, and ultimately evolve.
Chris Emmanuel made his debut in 2021 with the single Baby, and he’s been building momentum ever since. With Letting Go now setting the stage, his debut EP is set to drop before the summer ends.
