With their sophomore album Celebrator on the horizon, LA quartet Dear Boy have released its final single, ‘The Address’, a shimmering, 90s influenced fizzer that captures the bands radiant potential. The full album is due October 17th via Last Gang Records.

Working with producer Aron Kobayashi Ritch (Momma, Been Stellar, Snail Mail), Dear Boy deliver a song that fuses sharp post-punk textures with Britpop’s sweeping melodic sensibilities and some inventive production. Anchored by Keith Cooper’s drums and Lucy Lawrence’s bass, ‘The Address’ brings a pulsing groove reminiscent of the Happy Mondays topped with lush, subtle electronics, tight guitar work ultimately resulting in a soundscape that sits somewhere between indie-rock and dream-pop. Topped with frontman Ben Grey’s vocals carry the track with both intimacy and urgency, delivering lyrics that speak to the longing for self-acceptance and the elusive beauty of everyday life.

“The Address is about waiting to fall in love with your own life,” Grey explains. “Sometimes the good things are all there in front of your face, but you just can’t get them to look back at you.”

The single exemplifies Dear Boy’s ability to balance nostalgia with freshness, channeling the golden era of British alternative rock while infusing it with a California warmth. It’s a song that captures a sense of immediacy connection, yet rewards repeated listening with intricate layers of detail.

‘The Address’ is out now on all streaming platforms. Dear Boy’s sophomore album Celebrator arrives October 17 via Last Gang Records.
