Electric Six have been making noise—and noise worth listening to—since the late ’90s. Formed in Detroit in 1996, the band built a reputation on fusing rock, disco, punk, garage and absurdist humour into a sound that’s both chaotic and unmistakably their own.
Now, with 20 studio albums under their belt, they’re heading back on the road with a set that leans heavily into their catalogue of left-field anthems. Expect favourites like “Danger! High Voltage”, “Gay Bar”, “Dance Commander”, and “I Buy the Drugs”, delivered with the same theatrical flair and sardonic wit that’s defined the band since their breakout in 2003.
More than a gig, an Electric Six show is part performance art, part dancefloor revival. Lead vocalist Dick Valentine remains the band’s charismatic constant, fronting a rotating cast of musicians who bring the songs to life with unapologetic energy.
