Alternative funk-pop-rock outfit Good Time Locomotive are setting the tone for Summer 2025 with their groove-heavy new single ‘Daylight’, a vibrant, disco-rock track produced by none other than Grammy Award-winning studio legend Adrian Bushby, known for his work with Muse, Foo Fighters, and U2.
Blending funk-fuelled rock with introspective lyricism and a feel-good, floor-filling energy, ‘Daylight’ continues the London-based band’s mission to energize listeners with a distinctive and dynamic sound. Layering nostalgic 80s-inspired synths with a bold rock build-up and a blazing guitar solo that tips its hat to Van Halen, the song exemplifies the band’s evolving style and creative ambition.
Frontman Hugo Leite explains the meaning behind the track: “‘Daylight’ is all about getting caught up in the moment and then waking up to reality. It’s that sudden switch from feeling everything in that moment to waking up and questioning what any of it meant.”
Since forming during the first COVID lockdown and writing their earliest material over Zoom, Good Time Locomotive have rapidly built momentum. Their debut EP, released in 2024, further established their genre-blending sound and set the stage for a string of dynamic live performances that have steadily grown their fanbase.
With ‘Daylight’, the group are leaning into their signature mix of rock, funk, and disco with renewed confidence.
