Following the premiere of ‘Bleed Again’ on Backseat Mafia in May, Grace Turbo has now unveiled the song’s accompanying video, offering a striking visual counterpart to one of her most emotionally nuanced releases to date.
At the heart of ‘Bleed Again’ sits the lingering confusion that can arise when a close friendship edges towards romance, only to stop short of becoming something more. Rather than dealing in grand declarations, the song captures the uncertainty and unresolved feelings that remain when the boundaries between platonic and romantic affection become blurred.
Directed and edited by Catherine Engstrom, with cinematography by Dave Rowson, the video mirrors the track’s emotional ambiguity with a delicate and understated approach. Starring Grace Turbo alongside Johanna Ylaetalo, the clip complements the song’s themes without overwhelming them, allowing the bittersweet tension at the centre of ‘Bleed Again’ to remain firmly in focus.
Engstrom and Rowson also provided the still photography accompanying the project, while behind-the-scenes images were captured by Ylaetalo. Together, the creative team have delivered a visual accompaniment that feels every bit as intimate and emotionally resonant as the song itself.
Originally premiered by Backseat Mafia in May, ‘Bleed Again’ further highlights Grace Turbo’s ability to articulate complicated emotions with clarity and restraint, while the newly released video offers another dimension to a song that lingers long after its final moments.
