News: IDLES will be heading to Australia in 2025

IDLES

British rockers, IDLES will be returning to Australia early next year.

Since their formation in 2009, IDLES have carved out a space for themselves in the pantheon of modern punk. Fronted by the impassioned Joe Talbot and backed by the fierce instrumentation of guitarists Mark Bowen and Lee Kiernan, bassist Adam Debonshire, and drummer Jon Beavis, the band has ascended from the raw energy of their debut album ‘Brutalism’ to global acclaim.

IDLES have achieved not only a number one album but also captivated audiences worldwide with sold-out tours and festival headlining slots. Their sophomore effort, ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance,’ catapulted them further into the collective consciousness of the UK and beyond, laying the groundwork for the monumental ‘Ultra Mono’ – a testament to their growing influence as it soared to the top of the UK charts. With their 2022 release, ‘CRAWLER’, the band retained the visceral edge that has endeared them to a global fanbase while also exploring more melodic and introspective territories. Earlier this year, the band released ‘TANGK’. The 11-track album was co-produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, The Smile, Beck), the band’s Mark Bowen and Kenny Beats (Denzel Curry, Vince Staples, Benee).

‘Grace’ a single off ‘TANGK’ was released with an accompanying video, which is a reimagining of Coldplay’s iconic ‘Yellow’ video using deepfake AI tech.
