KATSEYE, the six-piece global pop group have announced a one-off, free 30-minute pop-up performance in Melbourne, marking their first-ever appearance in Australia.
Set for Friday 8 May at Festival Hall, the show is presented as part of Visit Victoria’s “Melbourne. Every bit different” campaign — alongside American Express, Live Nation, HYBE and Geffen Records — it’s positioned as a launch point for the city’s winter season, where live music takes centre stage.
For fans, it’s also a rare opportunity. This is the only confirmed Australian performance from KATSEYE on this visit — a short, sharp set that will likely disappear as quickly as it arrives.
Formed through the 2023 reality series Dream Academy, the group’s origins are built into their identity. Members Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae Jeung bring together influences from across the Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland and the United States, shaping a version of pop that feels deliberately borderless.
That global framing has been central from the start. Their formation was later documented in the Netflix series Popstar Academy: KATSEYE, charting the process from audition to debut, and positioning the group within a wider HYBE-led push toward internationally-focused pop acts.
