Robyn has added Melbourne pop trio Blusher as special guests for the Australian leg of her 2026 ‘The Sexistential Tour’, bringing together two generations of artists with a shared instinct for turning complicated feelings into dancefloor material.
The Australian shows form part of Robyn’s first major tour since 2019 and arrive after dates across Ireland, the UK and Europe, with the North American leg now underway. They are also the biggest headline shows of her career, following the release of her ninth studio album ‘Sexistential’, her first full-length record since 2018’s ‘Honey’.
Produced with longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund, ‘Sexistential’ also reunites Robyn with Max Martin for their first co-writing work since 2010. It is another chapter in a career that has repeatedly blurred the distinction between emotionally direct songwriting and club music, an approach whose influence can be heard throughout contemporary pop.
Blusher are a fitting choice to join her. The Melbourne trio build their own pop around dreamy synths, heavy basslines and candid lyrics, moving comfortably between introspection and the sort of choruses designed to land considerably later in the evening.
Backseat Mafia has already caught Blusher twice in very different settings, at Laneway Festival and supporting Rebecca Black, giving us a close look at a band whose live profile has been growing alongside their recorded output. They have also supported Aurora and Tove Lo in Australia and joined Daði Freyr across the US and UK, while Spotify previously selected them for its RADAR program.
For Robyn, the Australian dates mark the local arrival of a tour built around her first album in eight years while still drawing on a catalogue that has shaped pop music well beyond her own releases. For Blusher, joining one of the artists who helped establish emotionally vulnerable electronic pop as a mainstream language makes for a particularly neat pairing.
