We are very delighted to be premiering the new video from American guitarist and singer Al Perez of his new track ‘Shirley Sweet’. The track is taken from Perez’s new album, ‘Love Revolution’ which is out now via Warrior Records.
‘Shirley Sweet’ is about a love affair that wasn’t meant to be, between Al and a girl he met while performing in a small town. She lived in a complex called Shirley Suites and that became Al’s nickname for her. “The video depicts the pain and sadness I experienced about our not being able to end up together,” said Perez.
From the opening sweeping cello notes and the romantic piano the track hits you right in the heartstrings. Perez’s vocals bring the emotion with his powerful whisky toned tenor as the track rolls along flowing with an intimate and personal ambience. He stands aside to let the cello take the lead lines before bringing the track to an affectionate close.
