PREMIERE: Berlin-based Nigerian Isis Salam is ‘Westcoast Chillin’ on swaggering new track

Isis Salam is going places. She’s been plenty, too – born in Nigeria, she was raised in Toronto, had stints in school on both sides of the Atlantic (New York and London), and is now based in Berlin. She’s got previous in THUNDERHEIST, and has been quiet for a little bit since late 2019’s Last Minute EP, but if you haven’t heard of her, now’s a good time to get on board, especially because she’s got a new EP in the can.

While we wait for a firm release date, we do at least have a title: it’s called (4U) (MYDEAR) (IN LUE OF FLOWERS). In addition, Salam’s sharing the bouncy ‘Westcoast Chillin” today – it’s out tomorrow, but we’ve got your first listen today. Think of it as a reintroduction; it looks like she’s got a big 2023 in store, so tune in below, and keep an eye out for the EP earlier next year.
