Premiere: Dutch Indie-Rock Quartet Loupe Share Floating & Warming New Single ‘It’s Getting Wilder, Getting Older’

Dutch indie-rock quartet Loupe share the floating, warming, elegant and utterly gorgeous new single ‘It’s Getting Wilder, Getting Older’ taken from their upcoming album Do You Ever Wonder What Comes Next. Needless to say, we’re very excited to be premiering!

Adorned with intricate picked guitar lines, subtle electronics, shuffling drums and ground bass, ‘It’s Getting Wilder, Getting Older’ quickly creates an atmospheric, vibrant and breezy soundscape – warmingly analogue, beautifully melodic and yet oozing with delicate melancholy. Topped with the slightly fragile, silky smooth lead vocals, the track instantly takes on an air of Phoebe Bridgers whilst retaining a fresh indie edge.

As the track progresses through Radiohead-esque riffs and bubbling synths, the track shifts with a pleasingly awkward chorus change before bursting into the effortlessly infectious chorus, delivering an emotive release on the build up from the verse.

Ending the track on a climactic final Chorus twinkling with glitching synth, the band showcase their unwavering ability to deliver beautiful music and subtle yet nonetheless affecting earworm hooks.

Exploring themes of young adulthood, life in the big city and human relationships, the bands capture personal experiences and cover relatable experiences with a poetic, wisdom. Speaking about the new single, Loupe share:

“It’s Getting Wild, Getting Older is about how you can find yourself ending up somewhere thinking; Is this it? It’s about feeling really small in this big universe and wondering why and what it is we are here for”

A stunning effort teasing the kind of intoxicating indie you can find across the upcoming album, Loupe’s new single ‘It’s Getting Older, Getting Wilder’ is out tomorrow. Get the exclusive first listen below:
