Premiere: Kate Clover readies new album with sparky power-pop of ‘No More Romance’

If you’re the type who hates it when artists release teaser singles with no concrete mention of an album, we urge you to put that aside for three minutes and investigate this new one from California’s Kate Clover while awaiting the announcement of her forthcoming second LP. It’s a hard-charging power-pop banger with a seriously good bass hook.

In spite of the title, it’s not so much a breakup song as a lover’s quarrel song, about the fear of letting your guard down and having the other party see your true self, not to mention dealing with the consequences. It comes with a very cute video, which we’re premiering below. The clip’s directed by Ambar Navarro, and the song’s co-produced by Jonah Falco of Fucked Up and Brandon Welchez of Crocodiles. Tune in below; the follow up to last year’s debut album Bleed Your Heart Out is expected in the spring, and Clover’s touring with The Hives next week.
