Say Psych: Track Review: Glider – See You There

Rating: 8/10

Cornwall duo Glider have released ‘See You There’ as part of the second installment of Wrong Way Records esteemed BLACKLIST 100 series on 11th August 2017. The vinyl limited to 100 copies comes with the added bonus of a CD of previously unheard demos.

The dreamy track layers fuzzy guitar with a more distinct riff, before ramping up the shoegaze vibes channelling more than just a hint of My Bloody Valentine. Indistinct vocals, a swirling melody and a hazy drum beat make up the track, all measured precisely. There is a false ending before the track kicks back in and the tempo is ranked up a notch to see it through to completion. B Side ‘Wen [SUMMER1991CE]’ has instantly different vibe, with more pronounced musical elements and a feel good countenance. Together they make up an aurally pleasing prospect that will appeal to many.

A previously unknown entity to most, this release will propel them up to be amongst some of the finest shoegaze releases of the past decade.
