Taken from their album To all the Glory We Never Had, out now on Chien Lunatique Records, Seattle indie band National Honor Society have released a new video for album track ‘First Among The Last’.
First Among The Last has got all the traits of classic indie. Part shoegaze, part jangle pop, it’s full of echo and uplifting splashes of synth, and best of all, some killer melodies.
Of the accompanying video, director Kyle Porter commented “I see a lot of what I create as being an echo of the 80’s and 90’s, as though I’m re-litigating the end of the 20th century. As a millennial, my sense of nostalgia is invariably framed through music videos. When I listen to NHS it most certainly conjures the past, but the music is very much alive and now. And, as the whole world grapples with uncertain change and fear, I am so grateful to participate in something alive and now.”
