Other Nature, multi-instrumentalist and producer Sena Verdi aka Lyonheart, and singer/writer Tariq Khan. Neither are strangers to the music scene – Verdi releasing music with the likes of BT, Paul Oakenfield and Chicane as well as writing and producing for Sheffield post-punks RALE while Khan, as well as being Bat for Lashes’ brother, turned out for alt art-rock band Moones, and has remixed the likes of Gallows in the past.
Drawing on their love of Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode and Talk Talk, they’ve made a record that…well, sounds a bit like all three to be perfectly honest. It’s a delicious slice of electronic pop, Khan’s vocal somewhere close to Mark Hollis, and taking Talk Talk like sweeping, slightly melancholy melodies, and put them through Depeche Mode’s darker, more muscular synth pop, while retaining Tears for Fears knack of churning out a (synth) pop hit.
