See: The Damned reveal new video for ‘Keep ‘Em Alive’

Legendary punk band The Damned have announced a new EP The Rockfield EP, and from it they’ve released a video for new single ‘Keep ‘Em Alive’. The band originally recorded a number of sessions at Rockfield studios in 1980 / 1981, which eventually became The Black Album, The Friday 13th EP and Strawberries. They went back there, along with three of the original cast who played on those first sessions – Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible and Paul Gray (along with Monty Oxymoron on keys and drummer Pinch’s swan song) in 2019 to record their first new music since 2018’s Evil Spirits album.

Opening with birdsong and Monty’s gentle organ chords, things soon burst into life, with rich harmonies and muscular riffs the order of the day, Vanian’s vocal captaining the ship and steering it into these delightful almost psych pop waters. National institutions isn’t too strong a phrase.
