NEWS: The Used Announce European Tour Dates

The Used have announced some European tour dates, and as if that isn’t good enough- they go on sale this Friday!!

Their seventh studio album The Canyon came out in October via Hopless Records, met by much critical acclaim- only increasing their excitement to return to our shores in February!

Carrying a weighty 17 song track list, The Canyon is very much unlike anything you’ve heard previously from The Used- all while still maintaining the connection for the fans on the lyrical journey through the deepest corners of frontman Bert McCracken’s mind. Written primarily through feelings of pain and loss, it’s an interesting offering that encapsulates elements of tragedy while upholding a sense of energy and light throughout the album.

“I’ve learned as an artist that a great idea is such a gift.  If I don’t stop whatever it is I’m doing, even if while driving, if I don’t pull over at that moment, then maybe I didn’t deserve the idea to begin with. I learned to respect and worship the ideas in that way, that they are and will always be something sacred. Stopping in that moment was a brand new approach for us during this process” said McCracken in regards to The Canyon.

Every note and vocal on the album was recorded entirely on tape, without a click track- with some of the songs featuring a string arrangement and a choir. It was recorded this way to ensure what the listener hears is the magic of a band in the studio, and not something that was honed over hundreds of takes- with this in mind, the raw emotion will still be present in the live shows, as the songs still have a new breath of life in them. This tour definitely shouldn’t be missed!

Next years live dates are as follows!

4th Stockholm, SE, Fryshuset
5th Gothenburg, SE,  Pustervik
7th Bochum, DE, Zeche
8th Zurich, CH, Komplex 457
11th Nottingham, UK, Rock City
12th Manchester, UK, O2 Ritz Manchester
15th Bristol, UK,  O2 Academy Bristol
16th London, UK, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire
