Alison Mosshart shares her second solo song ‘It Ain’t Water’, and reveals details of a forthcoming 7-inch release via Domino. Available to preorder now for July 31st. Mosshart is to release two vinyls featuring ‘It Ain’t Water’ and previously-released digital single, ‘Rise’.
The track simmers and bubbles with her trademark voice ever on the edge of cracking. A voice with such an ability to transfer emotion, works so well with just an acoustic guitar and slide guitar for accompaniment. a simple snare drum joins in creating a great atmospheric track for late night listening.

Written late last year, ‘It Ain’t Water’ was recorded with Alain Johannes (Queens of the Stone Age, PJ Harvey). Mosshart had been sitting on the track for quite some time, and every time the singer found herself battling a bout of writer’s block, she’d pick up her guitar and sing it.

He understands and sees the beauty in imperfection, magic moments, accidents – the soulful human stuff, and the spirited super-human hard to explain stuff that makes a song great.
