Eat The Angel, the brainchild of former Lunchtime frontwoman Eden Grafos, has unveiled their latest single, ‘Friends Forever’. This angsty anthem pulls us from Eden’s punk past into a sparkly indie-pop present, all while summoning an irresistible urge to headbang to its hypnotic hooks – A particularly exciting introduction to Eat The Angel for us.

Exploring the modern dating scene, the lyrics are wrapped in the vulnerability of new love. It delves into the emotional highs and lows of developing a crush while shedding light on personal struggles, including battles with medication and illness. It’s a song that resonates with anyone who’s navigated the tricky waters of contemporary relationships.

Eden describes the current dating landscape as a minefield, especially for those who crave meaningful connections but are wary of letting others get too close. “Witnessing a lot of my friends’ experiences, the modern dating scene is awful,” Eden shares. “You want to be saved, but you don’t want to let anyone close enough. The multitude of anxious-avoidants and hook-up culture is destroying the romantics left in the world.”

‘Friends Forever’ is also a personal ode to Eden’s time in Brisbane. “For me, the song is a homage to the last couple of years,” Eden reveals. “I’m your tour guide cuz I’m Brisbane-famous.” The track even includes a nod to one of her favourite local spots, Ben’s Burgers, a constant in life amidst the chaos of gigs, work, and photoshoots. These small, personal touches give the song such a unique charm.

‘Friends Forever’ is now available for streaming, offering listeners a chance to experience Eden Grafos’ evolving sound firsthand. Whether it’s their punk roots or indie-pop evolution that draws you in, ‘Friends Forever’ is bound to resonate.
