Perennial Backseat Mafia favourites Field Music, aka Peter and David Brewis are back with a new song, ‘Orion from the street,’, is out now via Memphis Industries and the first glimpse of a new studio album due out later in the year.

Of the new track, Peter says  “I wrote it in a daze – it’s full of accidental quotes and allusions – the first couple of lines I overheard in a Cary Grant documentary but they sum up the whole song – how intense impressions of love, hate, grief and guilt can be an almost hallucinatory experience.”

Cascading synth lines and veering between art rock and prog pop, the boys poke at psych-funk, here and Bowie / Talking Heads stylings there, always sounding like, well, Field Music. In this case, thats bubbling, funk filled Field Music perfectly aligned with beautifully stretched and organic melodies, decorated with fluttering flutes and waves of synths.

Welcome back. Check it out, here
