Wollongong indie-dance six-piece Good Lekker released their vibrant, high-spirited new track Something Better today. The group have received widespread support from acclaimed music tastemakers Pilerats and recently played support for Brisbane’s Mallrat in front of a massive audience. They have also just announced the exciting news of an accompanying East-Coast tour, which will include dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra.

Produced and mixed by Daniel Willington (ILUKA), and mastered by Steve Smart (Vance Joy, Tash Sultana, Dean Lewis), Something Better flaunts the catchy hooks and infectious synths Good Lekker are known for. Along with runaway beats, polyphonic guitars and richly assured vocals there’s a little Two Door Cinema Club here, a little Stereophonics there. The group clearly have their own chemistry and, as the track soars to completion it’s clear that ‘something better come from this’.

“‘Something Better’ was inspired by the unpredictability of trying to succeed within the music industry. It also questions whether success is something that can be quantified within the creative realm. The track aims to showcase Good Lekker’s pop sensibility whilst having the rawer rock and alternative roots the band knows and loves.” -Alex Gray

To coincide with the release, Good Lekker will again traverse the East-Coast with performances lined up in Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Sydney. This continues on from previous touring schedules, having sold out multiple headline shows and sharing stages with crowd favourites Mallrat, Hockey Dad, The Vanns, Teen Jesus and The Jean Teasers, Boo Seeka and The Babe Rainbow. The band have also made appearances at Australian boutique festivals Party in the Paddock, Yours & Owls, Sweaty Palms, FKA Festival and Garden Party.
