Cardiff-based quartet Himalayas today release their burgeoning single, Alone via NettwerkThe track led by an urgent riff, showcases the band’s muscular musicianship which is complemented by frontman Joe Williams’ signature snarling and commanding vocals. Alone, was produced by their longtime collaborator Steffan Pringle and mixed by GRAMMY Award winning producer, Dave Sardy (Royal Blood, Josh Homme, Rage Against The Machine). The song arrives alongside the official music video, directed by Joel Barney (Royal Blood, Alfie Templeman, Gang Of Youths). The moody visuals see Himalayas performing in front of a series of flashing lights, and a translucent screen showing several people fervently moving behind it.

Joe has said of the track, Alone is about the idea of being in a nightmare, but one that you don’t seem to want to wake up from. A continuous looping corridor of the unknown, where you’re crawling to find a way through.”

‘Alone’ has strong rock riffs from the outset coupled with the melodic harmonious vocals of Joe and Mike, throwing some great hooks in for good measure. This track stays true to their garage rock sound whilst also showing their progression and maturity as artists. ‘Alone’ is the first release under their new worldwide record deal with Nettwerk and the future looks bright for this Welsh quartet.

The band have played at many festivals including SXSW and Reading & Leeds, have supported Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers and also played sold out headline shows in London and Cardiff. With covid somewhat slowing down their plans, the four-piece (Joe – rhythm guitar and vocals, Mike – lead guitar and vocals , Louis – bass and James – drums) are now back releasing new music and hopefully heading out on the road soon!
