Last month we saw news of a new album from Hot Chip, titled A Bath Full Of Ecstacy, out on June 1st, and followed it up with the brilliant Hungry Child single. Well, they’ve pulled producer/DJ of the moment Paul Woolford in on remix duties, and he’s reimagined the disco soul of the original into a ten minute piano house track. Not so much a banger, given the he’s laid down a slightly dusk tempo mix on it that just gives the vocals a hazy, almost woozy feel, more of a confident knock?
Of the track Hot Chip say, “Wooly was the first person we asked to remix ‘Hungry Child’. He is one of the most experienced DJs/producers in the business, responsible for so many great club moments – from ‘Erotic Discourse’ to ‘Hang Up Your Hang Ups’ and many more under his Special Request alias. His remix is a superbly minimalist take on the song.”
