Ahead of her album Consumation, out via Full Time Hobby on May 22nd, Katie Von Scheicher has released a new single, Nowhere following on from previous insight in the album ‘Caged Sleep’.
Katie herself says of the track “‘Nowhere’ is about the close and tight feeling of being alone. It can be a hard spell to break. The narrative is simple: I’m at home and promising someone I’ll leave any minute. I go out into the night, driving alone. Everything conspires to ride the line between comfort and the unknown – that’s my aim at least.”
In truth, she hits the nail on the head. There’s a strangeness, a quietness about the track, particularly at the beginning, and even as it flowers into this rather lovely alt-pop track, there’s moments when it all seems to come to a halt in a heartstopping, affecting manner.
