Hollow Coves, the talented folk duo hailing from the picturesque Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, is set to make waves with their upcoming album, ‘Nothing To Lose‘. In anticipation of its release on Friday, March 1st, the duo has recently dropped a soul-stirring single, ‘See You Soon‘, and revealed an extensive international tour that promises to be their most expansive headline tour to date.

Ryan Henderson and Matt Carins, the creative forces behind Hollow Coves, have carved a niche for themselves in the indie-folk scene, captivating audiences both locally and internationally. Their music is a heartfelt fusion of indie-folk that resonates with listeners, and ‘See You Soon‘ is no exception. The single, reminiscent of Sufjan Stevens’ influence, is a wholesome tune that washes over the listener like a cool breeze on the beach at sunset. Its laid-back acoustics and smooth vocals create a captivating atmosphere, making it a perfect addition to any “Coastal Chill” playlist.

“So you have made a new best friend somewhere in the world and you’ve shared so many great memories with them. Your time together comes to an end and you go your separate ways. Life gets busy and your communication together gets more and more distant. Eventually, you forget to ever contact them or call them, but you always have moments in your life that remind you of them or the memories you shared together.

This song is all about this feeling and trying to encourage the listener to reconnect with those people. Just send them a message or give them a call and see where they’re at. I’m sure they’d really appreciate it.”

The collaborative effort with Matt Corby and Alex Henrikkson, recorded at Rainbow Valley Studios, explores the theme of reconnection. The song’s emotive lyrics and rich musical arrangement showcase the duo’s versatility, setting high expectations for the upcoming album. ‘Nothing To Lose,’ will also feature standout single ‘Photographs‘, which we covered here.

Hollow Coves’ previous releases, including ‘Milk & Honey,’ ‘Letting Go,’ and ‘Harder To Fake It,’ have collectively garnered over 3 million streams. ‘Coastline‘, one of Hollow Coves’ earlier hits, achieved gold certification in Australia as well as going viral in 2021. ‘The Woods’ gained significant recognition after becoming the most Shazamed song in December 2016 following its feature in an episode of the CBS series ‘Scorpion.’

Hollow Coves has established itself as a compelling live act, participating in renowned festivals globally, including Osheaga, Pukkelpop, Reeperbahn, Live At Leeds, and Woodford Folk Festival. They have shared stages with distinguished artists like The Lumineers, The Paper Kites, and Passenger.

The excitement for Hollow Coves continues to build as they gear up for an extensive international tour, covering Europe, the UK, North America, and Canada, with over 38 dates. Following this global journey, the duo will embark on their most expansive Australian headline tour, gracing iconic venues such as Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and Melbourne’s The Forum.

As Hollow Coves continues to captivate us with their evocative sound, ‘Nothing To Lose’ and the accompanying tour mark a significant chapter moving forward. Fans and newcomers alike can look forward to an immersive experience that seamlessly blends indie-folk melodies with genuine storytelling, promising an unforgettable musical voyage.
