British singer-songwriter SAPPHIRE shines on the new single ‘The Last Thing’.

Led by buoyant strummed acoustic guitar, the track opens with a stripped arrangement of guitar and vocals before graudally unfurling into a dazzling pop soundscape. Layers of bright piano, a driving lo-fi four to the floor beat and atmospheric production, the track creates a warming sonic backdrop for SAPPHIRE’s radiant vocal delivery which balances its emotive vocal delivery with infectiously catchy melodies.

As comparable to Julia Michaels as it is to Taylor swift, the track brings a radiant commercial appeal and a beautiful sonic pallet that is at once ethereal and nuanced, yet streamlined and accessible.

Speaking about the new release, SAPPHIRE shares: “‘The Last Thing’ is one of my favourite songs I’ve ever written. It’s a Romeo-and-Juliet-style story about knowing deep down that, no matter what anyone says, you’ll always come back to that person. It’s intense, unapologetically raw, and one I’m VERY excited to play live.”

Building momentum across both live stages and airwaves, SAPPHIRE has performed at major events including The Hundred at Southampton’s Utilita Bowl for BBC Introducing and the Silverstone Festival main stage supporting Craig David. She has also treated fans to an intimate acoustic set at Speltham’s London pop-up. Meanwhile, her tracks ‘You Liar’ and ‘Dissatisfied’ have reached international audiences through placements on Love Island USA, and her single ‘Pessimist’ has earned acclaim from music press as well as the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Future Pop with Maia Beth, BBC Radio Solent, and Amazing Radio.

Amassing over 100 million streams across her original releases and popular YouTube cover series, SAPPHIRE has been in the public eye since the age of seven, when she began uploading performances of her favourite songs online. Her musical journey has since evolved into a dedicated global fanbase of more than 1.5 million followers across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
