Track: Whyte Horses – Empty Words

After scoring a first play on Lauren Laverne’s 6Music show, Mancunian psych-pop band Whyte Horses have now released the titled track ‘Empty Words’ from their forthcoming album as a new single. The album, a collection of sixteen stories about love and fear and all that lives between, is out on March 9th via CRC Records, and was recorded almost wholly at Mike Burnam’s Love Buzz Studios in London.

The title track is this chiming slice of classic, and classy, pop-psych. It’s simple melodies are playful, childish even, but somehow get stuck in your ears. Throw in some ambitious orchestration, with plenty of brass and strings alongside a glockenspiel that matches the vocals, which only adds to the innocence, and you have something thats actually rather lovely.
