EP: Hieroglyphic Being — The Fourth Dimensions Of A Nubian Mystic

Jamal Moss AKA Hieroglyphic Being adds yet another E.P to his already huge body of work. ‘The Fourth Dimensions Of A Nubian Mystic’ is a two-track release on the Technicolour label. Both on an old skool Chicago Techno/House vibe it’s not hard to get sucked in automatically by the Roland 909 sounding drums and percussion and the hypnotic floating melodies.

With both tracks having varying similarities they compliment each other perfectly to make this one solid release. ‘The Fourth Dimensions’ is a mouth-watering eleven minutes (and 29 seconds to be precise) Techno adventure with a lush acid line that kicks in after the half way mark and carries you off. On the flip we have ‘Star Time’ which has a more industrial sound to its main body but has a light melodic melody to lift it up from the darkness.

It’s definitely a release worth checking out and if like me, this is your first introduction to Hieroglyphic Being, then you may want to delve into his back catalogue, but beware, you may get lost down a Techno, Acid House, Future Jazz, Rhythmic noise, Abstract, experimental rabbit hole.

‘The Fourth Dimensions Of A Nubian Mystic’ is out now, on limited 12″ and digital. Check it out here
