If you dug previous single Instanbul, your going to fall very much in like with the new single from Jakil – Tongue Tied, out via Kira Kira Records on July 8th. The band say of the single, ‘The song is basically a tribute to everybody who’s had butterflies about somebody to the point of feeling sick. When writing the song, we wanted to give it the feeling of a last Summer dance twinned with the outright pleasure we get from listening to something like, Lionel Ritchie’s ‘All Night Long’.
If you like your music unashamedly pop, then the bubbling synths and boy band(ish) vocals will hit you right between the downloads. There’s something of the eighties in there too, with the clean production (provided by Jamie Snell of Nao, Little Boots and Maverick Sabre fame) and blue eyed funk guitar lines, and there’s a infectious germ of a melody in there as well.
