Track: The Bulls – Small Problems

Out on August 28th via Diet Pink Records comes the new EP from inide/alt-rockers The Bulls, called Small Problems. The Los Angeles two piece, Anna Bulbrook of The Airborne Toxic Event and Marc Sallis of The Duke Spirit, have revealed the title track from the EP ahead of its release on Friday.

It begins with these eerie, gently winding synth lines, that are interrupted rudely by this buzzsaw of a bass and driving drums. Over the top, Bulbrooks vocal is soft, sweet, and untroubled by the increasingly muscular backing. As is drips into the (gorgeous) chorus, layers have been added – chiming synths, wiry guitar lines and echoey backing vocals all sigh in the background as it winds itself around you finger and laps at your consciousness. Even with the razors edge guitar solo, and sweeping shoegaze, its still something of beauty.

The Bulls will be headlining the renowned Monday Night residency at Los Angeles’ The Satellite in August. The five free Monday Night shows will support the release of Small Problems on August 28.

Small Problems will be released on August 28 via Diet Pink Records.
