Alto Key makes a compelling comeback with the release of his latest single, ‘how lucky i am’. Marking the first taste of his forthcoming EP, the track sees the London-based singer-songwriter step confidently into 2025 with a profound, resonant anthem that champions perseverance and gratitude.

Opening with a bouncing synth bass, ‘how lucky i am’ builds into a rich, retro-tinged soundscape that nods to eighties backbeats while remaining firmly modern. At just under three minutes, the track carries weight beyond its runtime, delivering heartfelt lyricism and a warm reminder of life’s beauty, even in the face of adversity. The refrain, “there is a reason why I’m holding on,” epitomizes Alto Key’s candid approach to songwriting—personal, poignant, and deeply relatable.

Speaking about the upcoming EP, Alto Key explains: “The entire EP is really a collection of songs all about uplifting people. The lyrics are all things I wish someone had told me when I’ve had my own struggles in life. Things like ‘you’re honestly doing so well’, ‘there’s a reason that I’m holding on’ and ‘nothing can hold me back’. Though I won’t list them all, I really hope these songs have the power to take somebody out there out of a dark place and give them everything they need to hear in that moment.”

Alto Key has built a loyal following of nearly two million fans online, celebrated for his heartfelt songwriting and magnetic authenticity. His music has already found its way onto national TV, with syncs on ITV’s Love Island and an appearance on E4’s Will You Marry Me?—milestones that underscore his growing impact as a multifaceted creative. Alongside support from BBC Introducing and major editorial playlists, his momentum shows no signs of slowing.

With ‘how lucky i am’, Alto Key not only offers a stirring anthem for the year ahead but also sets the tone for an EP poised to uplift and inspire. As 2025 unfolds, the track signals a bright new chapter for an artist who continues to wear his heart on his sleeve and win over audiences in the process.
