Catalonia-born singer-songwriter Victòria Vilalta is stepping into the new year with momentum, unveiling her latest album Out Loud Thoughts as she continues to build a reputation as one of indie music’s emerging voices to watch in 2026. Now based in London, Vilalta blends introspective lyricism with textured indie and folk influences, shaping songs that centre on emotional clarity and lived experience. Alongside the album release, she is preparing for an upcoming tour across the UK and Europe, further extending her growing presence beyond Spain.

Out Loud Thoughts is a nine-track project that balances intimacy with experimentation, drawing from both folk traditions and contemporary indie-pop sensibilities. The album moves fluidly between minimal, acoustic-led arrangements and more expansive, polished productions, reflecting Vilalta’s interest in contrast and emotional range.

Discussing the creative process behind the record, she says, “‘Out loud thoughts’ was created in London studios. It was self-written and self-produced, relating the songs’ meanings to their sound. It entails collaborations with other musicians in writing some of the tracks and recording most of them. Each song conveys an emotion, ideas or values that are important to me. I always understood music as emotion.” The record prioritises vulnerability and sincerity, with each track designed to communicate a distinct emotional state.

The album also marks a period of artistic development tied closely to her academic work. She explains, “The album was part of my master’s in Creative Music Production, and it explores acoustic sounds to processed ones throughout the songs. It was an experimentation of my creative identity through different sounds, expanding the limits of my previous work, which was more acoustic and folk.” This approach underlines Vilalta’s growing confidence as both a songwriter and producer, willing to push beyond familiar territory while maintaining a sense of authenticity.

Since releasing her debut single in 2022, Vilalta has steadily refined a sound that sits across indie, folk and experimental genres, characterised by delicate vocals and a hopeful tone. Her music is self-written and self-produced, with a focus on sound design that supports the emotional core of her lyrics. Performing regularly in London as well as in Catalonia, particularly in Barcelona and Olot, she continues to develop a body of work rooted in the idea of music as an emotional exchange, leaving a positive and lasting impression on listeners.
