The Irish pop-country maverick, CMAT has dropped ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’, a glittery, gut-punching anthem that blends stadium-sized heartbreak with bratty, tongue-in-cheek brilliance. It’s part cry for validation, part existential meltdown, and entirely CMAT: soaring chorus, sharp lyrics, and more hooks than a Nashville bait shop. It’s the second single from her upcoming third album EURO-COUNTRY, out August 29 via AWAL, and it’s already shaping up to be her boldest, funniest, and most devastating release yet.

“With the internet, every woman is now in the public eye. And no matter who you are, or what you look like, somebody will take umbrage with the fact that you even exist, and there’s no escaping it. ‘Take a Sexy Picture of Me’ was born out of that, because I held back for so long; not out of frustration or sadness for myself, because I AM in the public eye, but I realised it’s actually like this for every woman. It’s all women, all the time. That song is me calling out anyone who criticised my weight or how I looked… and it’s one of the best songs I’ve ever made”. CMAT

Born Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, CMAT has gone from cult favourite to international festival staple in just a few short years. Her fusion of classic country melodrama with self-deprecating pop wit has made her a generational songwriting force. Since If My Wife New I’d Be Dead snagged the Choice Music Prize and her sophomore Crazymad, For Me racked up Mercury, Ivors and BRIT nods, CMAT’s rise has felt both inevitable and wildly unpredictable—like Dolly Parton gatecrashing Eurovision.

Australian audiences got a taste of the chaos earlier this year at Sydney’s Factory Theatre, where her genre-mashing, rhinestone-drenched live show had the room in raptures. And now, she’s about to do it all over again—only bigger.

With appearances locked in at Primavera, Wide Awake, and Glastonbury, a quick Glasto warm-up tour on the cards, and most dates on her UK and Ireland headline run already sold out—including Brixton and Dublin’s 3Arena—it’s CMAT’s world, and we’re just trying to keep up.

Add in her May 18 guest slot on Later… with Jools Holland, a relentless touring schedule with the Very Sexy CMAT Band, and a brand new duet with global economic despair, and EURO-COUNTRY isn’t just an album—it’s an era.
