News: Confidence Man release new EP ‘RE-TILT’

A few short weeks ago, Confidence Man shared a Tame Impala remix of their summer anthem, ‘Holiday’ on which Australia’s masters of all things psychedelic stretch and flex the original, then add a thumping bass drum to create a gorgeously laidback trippy house track that should extend the holiday season for a few months yet.

Talking about the remix, Confidence Man said: It’s not every day one of your  heroes casually hits you up on Instagram, asking if they can remix your track. Once we stopped squealing what else could we say but “f*ck yeah”. You probably know by now we  live it up. Big Kev definitely lives it up. So why don’t you hit play and live it up with us. It would be cruel of us not to share.

The remix is taken from the RE-TILT EP and features reworks from Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, CC:DISCO!, X Coast, Daniel Avery, CHAI and Erol Alkan.

RE-TILT Tracklisting:

  1. Holiday (Tame Impala Remix)
  2. Luvin U Is Easy (Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs Remix)
  3. Relieve The Pressure (X-Coast Remix)
  4. Angry Girl (CHAI Version)
  5. Break It Bought It (CC:DISCO! Dub Remix)
  6. Feels Like A Different Thing (Daniel Avery Remix)
  7. Holiday (Erol Alkan OOO Rework)

The original version of the track is lifted from their recently released, much-loved and acclaimed second album, TILT (check out our album review here), which came out on Heavenly Recordings in April. Written and self-produced by the band and mixed by Ewan Pearson (Metronomy, Jagwar Ma, Pet Shop Boys, Jessie Ware), it follows gun-slinging banger ‘Feels Like A Different Thing’,  ‘Woman’ and anthem of the summer, ‘Holiday’.

Previous singles received spins on BBC Radio 1, KEXP, BBC 6 Music, and Apple Music 1, plus pickup across Rolling Stone UK, NME, The Line of Best Fit, CLASH, Brooklyn Vegan and DORK and ‘Feels Like A Different Thing’ was added to Spotify’s New Music Friday UK.

Without doubt the band of the summer, the last few months have seen Confidence Man launch a full throttle assault on Glastonbury, where they were widely hailed as the band of the weekend up at the Park Stage, storm Later…with Jools Holland and sell out increasingly large UK venues in super-fast time.
