Sydney’s most iconic shoreline is set to take centre stage in February 2026 with the launch of Golden Hour, a new live music series from Fuzzy that will transform Bondi Beach into an open-air celebration of Australian music. For its debut, Crowded House will headline alongside Thelma Plum, in what promises to be an unforgettable sunset concert framed by sand, sea and songs that have defined generations.

Golden Hour marks the first major concert on Bondi Beach in more than ten years. Designed as a new end-of-summer ritual, the series invites audiences to bring picnic rugs, settle into the grassy rise above the foreshore, and watch the sky shift as music meets the ocean.

“Golden Hour was created to celebrate the magic of outdoor live music in a way that feels grounded in place and community,” said Adelle Robinson, Managing Director of Fuzzy. “It’s about uplifting the voices that define who we are, including First Nations artists whose stories and creativity continue to shape Australia’s cultural landscape.”

Crowded House, one of Australia and New Zealand’s most cherished exports, will headline with a career-spanning set that reflects both legacy and renewal. With over 15 million albums sold and an extensive list of accolades — including 13 ARIA Awards, eight APRA Awards, and induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame — their recent album Gravity Stairsreaffirmed the band’s creative pulse and global relevance. Watching Neil Finn and company perform Don’t Dream It’s Over as the sun dips into the Pacific feels like the kind of moment Golden Hour was made for.

Joining them is Thelma Plum, the Gamilaraay singer-songwriter whose 2023 album I’m Sorry, Now Say It Backcemented her as one of the country’s most vital voices. Known for her intimate, emotionally layered storytelling, Plum brings both grace and strength to the lineup, representing the heart of contemporary Australian music.

The event’s visual identity — designed by Warumungu/Wombaya artist Jessica Johnson (Nungala Creative) — further ties the festival to its surroundings, celebrating the intersection of music, art, and place. As Waverley Mayor Will Nemesh noted, “An iconic band deserves an iconic location, and what better combination than Crowded House and Bondi Beach.”

Golden Hour will run from 5 pm to 10 pm and return each summer with new artists and collaborations. Equal parts concert and community celebration, it’s a love letter to the Australian coastline — and a new chapter for live music in Sydney.
