Few bands have risen through heavy music’s underground with quite the same momentum as Fleshwater. Since emerging from the orbit of Vein.fm, the Massachusetts group have forged a distinctive identity of their own, combining shoegaze textures, grunge melodies and hardcore intensity into one of the most compelling sounds in contemporary alternative music. This November, they return to Australia for what will be their biggest headline shows on local soil to date.

The tour follows a remarkable twelve months for the band, who released their acclaimed second album, 2000: In Search Of The Endless Sky, toured alongside Deftones and The Mars Volta and brought their expansive sound to Coachella 2026. The record builds on the foundations laid by 2022 debut We’re Not Here To Be Loved, an album that quickly transformed Fleshwater from side project into one of heavy music’s most intriguing prospects.

Initially conceived by members of Vein.fm, Fleshwater found an immediate audience with breakout single ‘Linda Claire’, whose fusion of 1990s alternative rock and modern heaviness resonated with listeners searching for something both familiar and fresh. Festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Riot Fest, Sound & Fury and Sick New World only strengthened the band’s growing reputation.

Joining Fleshwater across the Australian run are Idaho hardcore outfit Ingrown. Self-described as “gun-toting, dirt-bike-riding, hell-raising hardcore”, the group have built a formidable reputation through relentless live shows and the uncompromising aggression of their latest album, Idaho.

Opening each night are Sydney’s Secret World, whose collision of hardcore energy and rock’n’roll swagger has marked them out as one of Australia’s most promising young heavy acts.

Armed with a new album and a live reputation that continues to grow, Fleshwater’s return promises to offer Australian audiences another glimpse into why the band have become one of the most talked-about names operating at the heavier end of alternative music.
