Featuring current and previous members of such UK scene luminaries as Lost in the Riots, Nervus, Weatherstate and Lakes, south coast UK band hairpin may be a relatively new name but they’ve got a hell of a pedigree behind them. Cleaving closer to vibrant post-hardcore than you’d expect from their previous activity, the quartet sprang into life last year, and their debut EP is locked and loaded for next month.
Their current single ‘Curtain Call’ is a bass-driven firecracker of a song that crackles with energy and won’t be long getting stuck in your head, even as the song structure keeps you guessing – the performance video below is the most straightforward thing about it. It’s a prime example of what to expect of debut EP Modern Day Living, which is self-released on Thursday April 3rd.
