News: Manchester’s Muddy Elephant Return With Infectious Indie-Pop Fizzer ‘Stay Toxic’

Manchester’s Muddy Elephant return with the infectious indie-pop fizzer ‘Stay Toxic’. Released fresh off the back of opening for Busted and ahead of their upcoming UK tour with Iglu & Hartly, the track showcases the band’s fizzy, radiantly catchy and high-energy sound—an irresistible slice of summer-ready indie-pop.

Drawing influence from the danceable swagger of The Driver Era, the punch of Circa Waves, the charisma of early Bowie, and the commercial sheen of 5 Seconds Of Summer, Muddy Elephant are steadily making a name for themselves. With a growing reputation for crafting bold, anthemic tunes made for sweaty venues and shout-along choruses, the quartet exude livewire energy. Frontman Sam’s bold style and magnetic stage presence have drawn comparisons to Harry Styles, while the rest of the band add their own unique flair—balancing explosive solos with charm and wit.

Their live résumé is already impressive, opening for The Darkness, The Hunna, and pakcing out shows at venues like The Cavern Club, Manchester Academy 3, and Chester’s Live Rooms.

Produced by Adam Lempriere, ‘Stay Toxic’ is a bold, vibrant track packed with anthemic vocal hooks, pulsing synths, punching drums and gleaming guitar tones. It captures everything that makes Muddy Elephant a buzz-worthy force on the UK indie circuit—catchy, confident, and unapologetically fun.

Speaking about the single, the band explain:

“The song humorously nods to those moments when we knowingly do something a little off—mischievous, indulgent or delightfully ‘toxic’ in the everyday sense. There’s no guilt trip here, just a wink at our more impulsive selves.

Stay Toxic is less about moralising and more about embracing our flaws with a grin. It’s a jaunty anthem for anyone who’s ever made a small mess and said, ‘Well, that’s me’.

We wanted to turn self‑awareness into an ear‑worm and toxicity into a comfort zone.”

With growing support from Apple Music’s New in Alternative, Amazing Radio, Future Hits Radio, Radio X, Capital Radio, and BBC Introducing, Muddy Elephant are proving they’re not just another indie band—they’re a rising force armed with big choruses, magnetic charisma, and a cheeky, relatable honesty.
