News: Mellow Mayhems Share Infectious New Single ‘Tricks’


Mellow Mayhems, a trio comprised of Sam Macdonald, Peter Korotki, and Stephen Brown, Share the debut single titled ‘Tricks’, showcasing their unique blend of roots, rock ‘n’ roll, Motown, and melodic pop influences.

Clocking in at three-and-a-half minutes, ‘Tricks’ promises to captivate audiences with its infectious melodies, soulful vocals, and dynamic rhythm. Drawing inspiration from the timeless Motown sound, the song features soulful vocals, strummed vocals, powerful bass hook, driving drums and complementary horns to create a track which captures a live essence whilst delivers a polished sheen.

Reflecting on the creation of ‘Tricks’, Sam Macdonald shares, “The song was written with Motown in mind, and chords and rhythm kind of came from The Band’s classic cover of Marvin Gaye’s Don’t Do It. As the song developed through us playing gigs, the vocals took on a kind of bluesy, soulful feel.”
