News: Perth’s GlassCastles Unleash Debut EP ‘Digital:Heart’

Perth’s melodic metalcore-post-hardcore outfit GlassCastles have officially dropped the anticipated debut EP Digital:Heart.

Since emerging in 2024, the band has rapidly made its mark on Australia’s heavy scene with a sound blending crushing riffs, cinematic atmospheres, and raw emotional honesty. Taking cues from acts like Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, and Linkin Park, GlassCastles have already performed at the Parkway Drive Pre-Show Party and supported Behind Crimson Eyes on their farewell tour. Their live shows are known for blistering energy, synchronized visuals, and a deep connection with the audience.

Earlier singles offered a glimpse of what fans could expect. ‘Ghost’ racked up more than 10,000 streams in just six weeks, while ‘The End of Us’ debuted at #3 on Spotify’s Pulse chart in Houston, signalling that GlassCastles’ music resonates far beyond their hometown.

Digital:Heart dives deeper into the band’s dystopian soundscape. Across six tracks, the EP explores themes of digital decay, emotional disconnection, and mental health struggles on tracks which bring together melodic sensibilities and deep, heavy drops. Vocalist Aaron draws on personal experiences with depression and anxiety, crafting lyrics that confront the pressures of a society obsessed with curated digital perfection.

Lead single ‘Gravestones’ embodies this vision with haunting intensity. Anchored by a modern nu-metal riff and an emotive, melodic chorus, the track began as an idea Aaron penned four years ago and has since evolved with layered guitars and reimagined synth textures.

“‘Gravestones’ is a song that reflects feeling hopeless and unable to measure up to expectations in a world fixated on materialism and image,” Aaron says.

With its punishing breakdowns, soaring choruses, dense electronic soundscapes, and cinematic production, Digital:Heart delivers a listening experience that both devastates and uplifts.
