Rising Alt-Pop singer-songwriter MAZ releases the emotive and emphatic new single ‘The Arsonist’.

An emotive piano ballad that packs cinematic production and dynamic heartfelt vocals, ‘The Arsonist’ sees MAZ ebb and flow through the warming piano and layers of muted synth and drums before exploding into a crescendo of roaring guitars and pounding percussion. Exploring the raw emotions that accompany fractured relationships, the song melds deep bass grooves, and a pulsating backbeat, creating a stirring and immersive listening experience.

“In The Arsonist, I delve into the complex emotions surrounding the end of a friendship,” MAZ shares. “The lyrics capture the turmoil I felt, using imagery of a burning house to reflect how the damage isn’t just in the flames but in the ashes left behind, and the confusion of trying to make sense of it all. This song explores themes of trust, healing, and the importance of surrounding yourself with those who offer unconditional love and support. In many ways, The Arsonist is my way of saying thank you—for surviving, for gaining clarity, and for finding the strength to rebuild. And perhaps, the fire had to burn for the truth to finally come to light.”
