News: The Kountess Releases Debut EP ‘INIT’

A cinematic blend of pop, electro-pop, fantasy, and emotional storytelling, ‘INIT’ serves as both an introduction and a transformation. Across five tracks, the project captures a pivotal chapter in The Kountess’ artistic journey, exploring themes of self-discovery, introspection, and emotional duality.

“This was the year that I started asking questions: Who am I? As an artist, as a person?” says The Kountess. “[INIT] was a moment of reflection, of what I prefer to call incubation. I wanted to escape from reality, shut out every voice and opinion influencing the way I feel, and tune into my inner world. It became a process of discovering all the versions of myself and meeting them up close.”

The EP’s title reflects the beginning of that process. Like a command to activate something hidden beneath the surface, ‘INIT’ marks the start of a deeper exploration into identity and self-awareness. Throughout the project, The Kountess embraces the contradictions that shape the human experience: chaotic yet thoughtful, angry yet kind, sad yet optimistic.

Rather than searching for one definitive version of herself, The Kountess celebrates the coexistence of them all. The result is a project that embraces complexity, turning inner conflict and reflection into an immersive pop experience.

Born from escapism and daydreams, The Kountess has created a creative universe where emotion and fantasy intertwine. Her music transforms vulnerability into cinematic storytelling, drawing inspiration from artists such as Ariana Grande, SZA, Tove Lo, and Lady Gaga.

Since releasing her debut singles in 2023, The Kountess has continued to develop a distinct artistic voice rooted in honesty, imagination, and self-expression. Her songs ‘The Light’ and ‘Independent’ were recognised as semifinalists in the International Songwriting Competition, highlighting the early impact of an artist now stepping into a defining new chapter.
