Few figures have shaped modern electronic music quite like Tiësto. Long before the stadium shows, chart success and Grammy recognition, the Dutch DJ and producer built his reputation through trance, becoming one of the genre’s most influential and recognisable artists. In February 2027, Australian fans will have the chance to revisit that chapter when Tiësto returns for a rare trance set exclusively at Dreamstate Australia.

The performance marks a significant moment for both the artist and the festival. While Tiësto’s career has evolved across multiple styles over the past two decades, his early work helped bring trance to a global audience and inspired a generation of producers and fans. Dreamstate’s invitation offers an opportunity to reconnect with the sound that first established him as a leading force in dance music.

The announcement also signals Dreamstate Australia’s biggest edition to date. Since arriving in the country, the internationally recognised festival brand has established itself as a destination for trance, techno and hard techno, combining large-scale production with lineups that span different eras and styles of electronic music.

Originally launched in the United States, Dreamstate has experienced rapid growth in Australia, with its 2026 edition attracting record numbers. The 2027 festival promises to continue that momentum, bringing immersive visuals, expansive stage production and one of its most high-profile bookings to date.

For longtime fans, Tiësto’s return to a dedicated trance set represents a chance to revisit the roots of one of electronic music’s most enduring careers. For newer audiences, it offers a rare opportunity to experience a sound that helped define an era.
